Warped Tour the stolen wallet and awesome music.

----------------
Now playing: Space Blaster - Magic Fly (Radio Edit)
---------------

Well Warped Tour was ridiculous. I got my wallet stolen, split the cost of two CDs with Hagz and rocked out really hard. You know you have been having fun when your covered in sweat and a good majority of it is not yours.

So I lost my Wallet in the Senses Fail mosh pit. At least that is were I noticed I no longer had it. It was terrifying. Here I was just enjoying jumping around and passing people overhead to the front and I no longer had my wallet. It royally sucked. Raptus Regaliter eram. So I did what any responsible son would, I called my mater to have her cancel my check card. <- Not the call you want to have to make to your mother from a concert. "Hey Mom, I really don't want to add to your stress but, umm.... I kinda just lost my wallet. " and then you can create your own response to that Mama's was terse and venomous. So I got to wait around and check back with the Clerk at Lost and Found for a while, and in the mean time saw quite a few super awesome bands.

Hagerty and I missed 3oh!3 sadly, but we managed to see ALL KINDS OF AWESOME BANDS. Like even the screamy ones he liked(I don't particularly care for screamy) put on FREAKIN FANTASTIC SHOWS. One of the band's who's CD we bought, the Switchblade Killers, were so awesome. Little tiny stage, like trickum Cafateria stage size, and they crazy rocked that thing. They played a cover of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues and it was crazy awesome.

----------------
Now playing: Rollin' Away - Switchblade Killers
---------------

So we bought their CD and it was crazy good. And then we went to see the Senses Fail show and well that's when I could no longer find my wallet. Can you say sucks? it did. (the losing the wallet not the show, because those Jersey kids can rock)

what else?... Oh yes, Kelly from work was there. I gave her the bracelet I made, it took like no time at all so eh why not? she liked it and it was easy so whatevs. umm oh yes, the All Time Low Concert ROCKED. The dude was playing a PINK NEON BASS! so cool. ( dav and I actually spent a little time at the earnie ball booth and played bass/guitar on these effects petal boxes and If you dont play bass all you have to do is get a really good distortion petal and you too can play bass. because with crazy distortion almost anything is catchy and cool. I surprised even myself.)

----------------
Now playing: Outkast - Ain't No Thang
---------------
Those guys rocked hard, when they come back to atlanta I really want to see them again, their guitarist walked up right into the crowd and played from the sound booth, it was crazy awesome.

Jersey Rae- one of my new favorite songs.

I got a twitter, just really because I felt like I was spamming my FB status when I put up a new awesome song like every few h0urs. but twitter is for things like that right?

Gar comes home today, Kinda excited a little. Just because I haven't seen him in like 2months. But he was a jerk on the phone about the router I was helping him set up, like really? You're going to be a jerk even though I'm helping you? but what eves.

I really want to DJ a party or somesing. It sounds crazy awesome. Like lets rock this, umm 9th floor of a 9 floor dorm. Playing music in an elevator- great way to meet people, especially when you have to ride all the way up and all the way down every day. going to be fun. Still waiting on my ext, it will get here when it gets here though I suppose. Maybe the day before or something but what happens happens. I am kind of packed a little for school already, most of the things I need I have, some I don't. Like a Mini Fridge, got to go get one of those. New shoes, climbing shoes, mini fridge, clothes(from H&M prob), UGA shirt, soap, deoderant, face stuff, robe, shower shoes, replacement IDE hard drive for my Gateway Laptop because the HD in it is slowly going bad, chopsticks, and a tub for my rice, and a pad lock for my closet.

Going to have to wait on: UGA hat, funky fedora, climbing chalk bag, marathon running stick, running shoes, 3oh!3 shirt, 28ks Later shirt(zombie running joke tee), TWLOHA shirt, Invisible Children Shirt pack, 2gb of ram for netbook, and my custom zazzle hoodie. thats it as far as stuff i have to wait for.

I wanted to make a UGA shirt but it involved buying a screen for our Yudu screen printer and then emulsion and thats expensive. It was going to be an awesome 3 color print on black and be super cool but I dont have time to work extra to make the money for that, it could be spent better elsewhere.

Mom has said she would make curtians for my room, me a netbook sling, and a black & red batik coi quilt. so im kinda like oh awesome yes please.

Dav and I already went over pretty much everything we have to for the "hey sign this contract that says you won't kill eachother" contract. room rules and what not. my schedule is crazy and so is his, we both have an 8am class every morning so we cant get pissed at the other for waking us up, we should have been up already. and perks of being on the 9th floor other than elevator dj-ing, is when someone is completely wasted they won't likely wake you up unless they actually live on the 9th floor, because it would be easy to not know what floor you're on if you live lower, but only if you live up there would you likely push the big 9 button. At least I can hope. Going to be playing music like nonstop all the time. and hrm, oh wanting to play DDR the afternoon after I move in, if your interested just hit me up. (christina this is of course just a reminder for you ;) ) and hrm. what else, I feel like I want to keep writing.

Current song!!! Very mellow and chill, I like it , you like it, the American people love it.

----------------
Now playing: Iron & Wine - Sunset Soon Forgotten
---------------

Rocking out at full volume is fun but, chill is great too.

I baked-ed a cake this week, from scratch. Thanks to Chelesa and the marvelous Hershy cook book and mom running out to pick up sour cream after we had none to use... I want to start a Sunday Night Supper should be pretty crunk. Yes I can cook. And it would be cheap and fun to hang out and eat, esp since the whole dining halls are closed sunday evening thing. I would cook, erbody would help clean up, and it would be like 2 dollars for dinner (no money in it just to pay for supplies, me cooking is fun enough) Ummm, like yeah if your Interested just call me up or something.

I really don't have anything else to say. I bet I lost you much farther up though, but selective reading is what it is all about. Read what you want and ingnore the rest.

If I could bottle anything in the whole world, it would be patience. You would make more selling that than anything. Not to mention, the world would be a much better cooler place.

Lots to choose from and between the two of us we have pretty useful skills. Considering the audio track I mastered and the song I created for the On Demand Video at for TSA state this year was DQed because the music I made was so good, I really wanted to be like? WHAT! I sat in a chair outside a confrence room for almost 5 hours making that and you DQ us because its "copy righted" oh yea! by me! because I MADE IT! GRRR. But I just see it as the highest praise because its "you were so great, you couldn't have made it." And Perez has pretty amazing producing and editing skills, much props.

So I am super excited. YAY!

Computers, Con's and Cars

So at the moment I'm writing this post with out internet. XD Not cool.

So Pop wanted my desk in the kitchen to work, his project is more involved than mine apparently. So I gave up the space but, before I did I cleared off my desk and whatnot and then set up a mini network of my Mini and Desktop so I could keep an eye on the torrents(gui webinterface of uTorrent) I have going, and listen to the music over there. This involved running an ethernet cable from the Desktop to my belkin router that is in the desk in the living room that i setup just for a purpose like this. And now the internet is back up, gosh I'm a nerdy genius.

I set up my network dubbed "happy sky" to cover a different subnet, from 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.1 because the household router too is a belkin and duplicate subnets = no internet for me.

So i reconfigured happy sky so i can continue to surf on the mini AND check out the desktop. Such a nerd is I. I also created a few wallpapers for my phone. Fun stuff photoshop is, even if it is a minimalized "elements" gah.

So now I will get back to listening to music for the inevitable AMV that Perez and I will be making for Dragon*Con. Fun Fun.

And as far as Dragon*Con goes I plan to dress up on friday as arthur dent: bath robe, towel and all.

And then Wear a kilt at some point [samurai jack Scotsman anyone?](if mom finishes it) because I can. And then Saturday if it happens, the Steampunk outfit mom and I decided we would make oh last year(?) that hasn't happened yet. fun stuff.

I'm so excited, DJ Nemesis and a bunch of really cool bands are playing DC this year and its going to rock over all.

Best "santa" gift ever, 4day dragon*con passes for me and G. XD so happy.

________

Random other stuff!

Netbook remix of Ubuntu <- Really cool! I installed essentially a "live CD" to one of my spare SD cards and was playing around with it today on the Mini. At some point i will back up one of my flash drives and then write the live cd to it, and then make a active installation of the distro on the SD so I can edit me some files >.<

Blog and a Bagel

Yum, warm peanut butter bagel. Its super fly, and delicious.

Dear me, I am now at a ludicrously large value...

That's music for ya. ;)

So, current favorites and worthy of a listen are:

Shots - LMFAO

Plush(live) - Stone Temple Pilots

Creeps Me out(rock remix) - Ima Robot

So I got these door hangers, you know the "dont change the linens" kind of things, and they are actually moderately funny.

they are double sided and multicolored and what not- this is the best
of them, or at least my favs.

"Surfin the 'Net In approved places"
"out and about having
fun"
"do not disturb pretty please"
"working away come entertain me"
"took cash from your wallet"

thought they were pretty good, and for getting them for 33 cents a piece, pretty awesome.

I'm still waiting for my kilt. Twas promised to me quite a while ago....

So I can't wait for my EXTernal hard drive. I so need it...

Hopefully Soon I will get my 1.5 TB Seagate Freeagent. oh my isn't this a great little buddy to have. it will definitely be locked to my bed post with a very nice cable. So looking forward to putting all of my music in one place. ( NO I am NOT an IDIOT, I'm getting it all in one place and then Burning off the backup copies to DVD. Yes I may be insane but I do have backup plans.)

Plus at my current rate it will be what? 20 ish DVDs? yeah... im so crazy... (that's just music too.)

and then the warez, cant for get those. those have to be backed up too. dang. that's a lot to do!
Oh well I still have a few weeks.... if I get that dang ext soon.... I still have quite a lot left to get and need this so i can actually continue to finish...
Oh well thats enough bemoaning my lack of external hard drive. I will eventually get it and at that point I will probably officially pass out. I look forward to the inexhaustible chore and horror that will be backing up my library of materials. Dear me, I really don't look forward to the media library editing and fixing; removing duplicates, except those from different albums, making a duplicate copy of FLAC that downgrades it so I can play it in something like Torq or Vdj, ID3 tagging every song correctly, and on top of that giving album art to things that have it that just aren't attached. going to be FUN FUN FUN.

Do i always have to publish after nine?

first off i thought i'd start off with a rant and a warning. this post will be long. Why? because i feel that i have a lot to say and didn't break it up along the way; during the week. and most of all i felt like it.

I HATE white socks, the crew kind especially, if you must have white socks get the low cut, extra low cut, no-show kind. I find them terribly ascetically unappealing. So all of my college socks will have to fall into one of those categories, black or white but VERY low cut.

alright onto more exciting matters, quite equally as random but hopefully from topic to topic my lead makes sense.

I have been seeing a lot of latin or latin esq labels on like everything; baked lays, jinx shirts, little 5 points. and it made me realize, wow taking latin was awesome. I understand all this stuff! The little 5 reference was the best though, "iste locum terribilum est" - that place is terrible, probably the most awesome and zany chalk writing on a door post i have ever seen.

which goes to my blog url, "iste stercum" - that crap. yeah thought it was amusing and most of my writing is well not cohesive and but it IS comprehensive so coherent or thorough?

I am at a stand still between wanting to take Japanese or Korean in college. Both are languages and countries i would love to know. But I just can't decide, I lean towards korean simply because its phonetic and in theory would be easier to learn than Japanese(and the ability to watch lost with out subs is cool too, okay maybe thats a stretch but still...) And either way I would be able to fulfill my inevitable goal of going to either S.Korea or Japan and teaching english for a year between Undergrad and getting my masters, so at this point it would seem to be a preference and a "rate my teacher/professor" issue.

College...
I'm excited, so much so that I drove on wed to the counciling office and paid two dollars to get a copy of a form that didn't even have my most recent immunizations on it, Yipee. So then i got to drive to my Dr.'s office and well actually that was the most awesome part, walk in say "hey i was wondering if you guys have a more recent copy of my immunizations on file" and then having my DR. himself come and say "hey, why yes we do. lets get that copied for you." and then he reminded me that i was probably missing a very necessary form, which i was that is essentially a fill this out and create more bureaucratic paperwork for us, all this does is restate what's already on this other sheet but we want it both ways...BUT i was in and out of my Dr.'s office in 7 minutes! CRAZY! so now i get to go back with that form but im not afraid of any wait at all. :)

and then I got to waste that night afternoon and early evening with Bo, who consequently was the reason I decided to blog this evening..., and we were trying to set up perhaps the coolest piece of software I have ever used.

its called tversity, and Bo and I couldn't configure his router to get it to broadcast out to the internet like mine can, but it is a super piece of software. It creates a flash interface that will stream your home media from your computer at home to any device that has access to the ip address of your server. It's spectacular for streaming mp3s and movies, especially because it will transcode them to the format you need for any device - on the fly. So cool. I love it just because i dont want to have to run upstairs to listen to music on my desktop, when i could stream the same file to my mini downstairs on my bed.

So saturday is the peachtree, so stoked. Time group 1A ! oh yeah, i think that means im kind of fast... but I'm super excited. Mom gave me the Nano to format so I can run with it and enjoy the crazy sounds of what ever i choose. Most likely, KMFDM and other industrial or high BPM driving music. I don't know why I would be surprised that industrial would make such great running music, it has a driving pounding bass line, high intensity and a lot of energy so it makes great sense that it would be spectacular runnning music. So that will be awesome, but I'm not looking forward to running home after the race, taking a shower and then having to be in to work by 11am, I am so dumb. I forgot to request off....

Which leads to other things in the future im excited about: Lunch with Mr. Ed next thursday, that is going to be awesome. Though I think I should figure out where... Oh and if he is reading this "I'm taking YOU out to lunch, that means I get to pay this time." :)

and then the next day there is the party at Alan's house, going to be so much fun. I suppose I will sing more soundgarden again. And then Rocky Horror at the plaza woot. (I just watched it again yesterday and remembered why I like it so much, so cult classic. its wonderful)

so, fairly long eventful blog post for an awesome eventful week. I need to figure out when I am going to get together with Bo for a movie, I still need to see:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Public Enemies
The Proposal
Bruno
The Ugly Truth

Its Late

I have a headache again; this is really getting old.

So the cool news I got this week was: I got my Peachtree number! YEAH! So much for slacking off, seeing as I am in time group 1A I better start training again...

On another note, I seem to be on a music kick, looking for and getting ALL kinds of music: rap, rock, r&b, electronica, remixes. I also just sucked it up and bought the cable I needed for the mini. Yes it makes me sad, but inevitably it will make my life much easier.

Today I missed church to "help move bricks" and I say that because that is what I knew going into this soon to be almost 5 hour task. When I showed up I half expected the person we were going to be helping to be a woman or a frail old man, but soon found that nope were going to help some dad move bricks out from underneath his house. I would hazard to use the word crawl space, but really it was really more of a "prone space" seeing as you only had enough room, in the part of the house where a lot of the bricks were, to be flat on your stomach or rotated onto one of your hips. The work was kind of hard, but considering the heat outside being inside a dark cave-like crawl space in the shade wasn't too bad. And the money, yes the money- I realized I'm not too desperate to miss church for the hourly rate I made- at least if its manual labor or in a crawl space. I came home so dusty and gross I looked homeless, it was not cool. I am kind of surprised red clay didn't form in the drain pipes. I took a picture of the pile of bricks Zack and I made outside the house, but cant seem to get it off my phone. I will eventually and edit the post to include it. It was huge. And after this ordeal I went to work! Gah. Long day.

Well I need to go to bed, I have work and have to get a TB test for volunteering at the hospital tuesday. Sleep is good for our bodies, but sometimes we just don't slow down to get the amount we need.

Too Awesome Not to Blog About.

So I just got the 2hr Ultra HD Flip Video camera. My goodness it is spectacular. Apart from the super lengthy charge time of 7hrs which i had to do right out of the box, it is gorgeous. Sleek Chrome and black design, so sweet. I am not sure what I'm going to film with it first, but then again Evan is spending the week with me. I'm sure we'll find something to do with it. And then its off to be edited in Vegas and then run through Sound Booth and put on youTube.(there is enough crap on youTube, if you are going to take the time to make a video - quality: its a must, please) So pretty. Two blog posts in one day? What crazyness is this? Well its not a facebook status or twitter so as long as I dont update every 15 mintues I guess I'm okay. :)

Being a Breakfast Blogger?

Yeah definitely fell asleep at a reasonable hour last night, I guess that means I'm at least over the hill with whatever it is I'm fighting off; good stuff. I think today I'm going to read more, which is awesome I'm glad that I am reading books in my down time again. And the reading helps me escape from the electronics related tasks I could and should do soon, like organize all my music and fix the Ps2 hard drive. But I'm not looking forward to gathering all that music into one place, removing the redundancies and linking album art for every single song I have. That is a 4+ hour chore that can wait for a dark rainy boring day. But I think I will take care of the Ps2 fairly soon, because I really want to play some ridiculous racing game that makes me feel like a king of the track, because really who doesn't like that feeling? But all of that is a side car to the inevitable task that I'm required to do today, and that's go to work. Which wouldn't be so bad but I am working the kind of hours I haven't seen since last summer. So its early 30 to late 30. Not really as much fun as I would want, but at least it pays nice and I didn't have to look for a job- like every other unprepared young adult ever.

I suppose it's time for another bowl of cheerios; not the lame kind- these are honey nut ;-) good stuff. And then I get to ride in with mom and then drive to work, YAY! Well not really, but whatev. It sure beats working for a fastfood company.

Just Sittin' Here

I'm just sitting here, and decided that writing a new blog post would be more productive than "facebook stalking" for hours on end. But facebook stalking isn't stalking persay- they posted stuff and let you see it, so really its not invasive at all.

Today was a good day, and it ends with Burn Notice and Royal Pains, so good... it makes me happy. I went to the pool, and then went and hung out with Evan- and got into trouble for going even though I did give a heads up on where i was going, and then came home to chill in the house in my pjs were i came to the realization: laptops have crummy sound systems.

For an audiophile like me that's big. I'm going to spend the moneys to get my music on the Mini to sound the way it should. Which leads me to my rant, **[WARNING]** this rant may contain ridiculous hilarity at the manufacturer's expense and be just horribly mean in general.

The Mini is wonderful it has battery life I would expect of even larger laptops, and can keep up with all of the load intensive applications that I use everyday. It lasts a little more than 2 hours from a full charge and can last that whole time even while running Virtual Dj and Firefox - running Facebook and youTube. It does everything and more than I would want. It holds a LOT of music and I love that. But i really question HP's decision to put the headphone and microphone port together! Really together?! It creates a lot of problems because you can't just use a typical pair of headphones and listen to your music without getting all kinds of feedback and Horrible sound quality. I mean perhaps if I owned an iPhone I would already have the 4 connector mic/headphone for the Mini and would be listening to music just fine, but I don't have one! My question is what was HP thinking??! As a manufacturer you limit the use of a necessary component on your product by narrowing the accessories you can use and then all the support you offer is "well buy an iPhone accessory"! So I am going to have to purchase a $20 dollar breakout cable that takes the combined port and breaks it into two separate jacks: the Microphone Jack and the standard Stereo Headphone Jack. But why couldn't the company just have placed two jacks or provided you a cable which fit the industry standard. WHY WHY WHY do you decide to be essentially for all intensive purposes proprietary and then not include the necessary cable to let your users use their own standard headphones and microphone. So it has prompted me to buy the cable from ShowMeCables.com the awesome cable looks like it will work out super awesomely, but grr why not include the necessary cable? But in addition to that it has gotten me into wanting to purchase this pair of headphones that I think I have wanted since 8th grade and never got the time or money to do so, and with an $80 dollar price tag I remember why. They are really cool but it begs the question: "Are they big enough?"

Overall I find that I really enjoy the Mini, right off the bat it has lots of storage space, mine has 55GB which is a lot for a netbook class computer. And as a netbook it is amazing, and the only thing it would ever need would be maybe an external hard drive, but that would be for super crazy people like me who just have to have all of their music with them everywhere.
--End of Rant--

I suppose now would be a good time to try and go to sleep, though it means I have to miss watching Royal Pains, but I guess that is one of the perks of Tivo I can watch it sometime tomorrow.

Because I felt kind of lazy.

I was feeling mostly lazy, and then I remembered Devichan started a blog...So i went to revive mine. Yeah I couldn't find it; it was a scary sad feeling. So i decided to start a new one, and i didn't want a frilly name, or a geeky one and ended up having to fall back on the simplest of latin for my enjoyment. Most people won't understand it, but hey is that really an issue? The majority of blog names are what? the first letter of your favorite food, followed by the last letter of your middle name rounded out by a sequence of digits that come to have no immediate significance other than, "well it was open and convienent at the time" Is that your excuse for having to type 5 digits and a string of nonsense? Just to read about what you and your cat did for fun today?

Oh now im getting mean, thats not cool and its my first post back. Ouch that was quick. You could say I'm harsh and it would be true, but really? I really am not a butthead, i just have a very aggressive and albeit sometimes abrasive personality.

I am really excited about E3 although, much too late, I think i should have cought on to the whole lets watch the keynotes live but found sleeping till noon-thirty much more enjoyable. The only crazyness I have heard is the new iPhone, of course, and the updated PSP platform - sounds like more fun for all my crazy hacking friends yet another console to be broken apart and rebuilt to allow the playing of "import or backup games".

My DM is planning to get an iPhone, which is cool for me because it means I get to upgrade phones. Which is cool but you always have to cost benefit analyze the change process, 1) get shiny cool phone 2) but i have to move all that stuff over... In the end I know i'll probably spend a shiny total of 20 minutes doing it all and then marvel over the palm but hey knowing I could have whined and didn't -- isn't there satisfaction to be had in that?

SO I kind of enjoy talking to the Internet, its like -- talking over loud speaker at the mall but your in a dark room and can't see anyone else. I thought it would be intimidating, but Oh man I really enjoy it. This stream of consciousness, and barely paying any heed to spelling errors or erroneous punctuation is great. I write for me, from me, and my audience is me. If you dont like it there are plenty of blogs just for you. But this is mine, and im a pinch of irony, a heap of random and a shiny penny thrown in for good luck.

And i suppose like all good bloggers i might as well talk about my day. Gah the dreaded well i fed the cat, no none of that nonsense.

I spent the majority of the day with my sister, chatting away talking about whatever and watching movies. I'm not embarrassed to admit, today I watched Twilight. And man is Edward Cullen angsty, i mean really. It made me want to go buy the Jinx "and then buffy staked edward. The End." shirt like immediately, but seeing as I am broke (well not broke persay but saving money for more important things like college perhaps.) I decided that the better course of action would be to watch one of my top 50 movies ever: High Fidelity.

Perhaps one of my favorite movies because they compulsively list things like I do, "top 5" this that whatever. And watching the movie only made me want to get back to reading the book, which im in the middle of, but cant find the time to read between being sick and the pool and work and facebook of course. In fact I probably would be reading now had I not gotten the Mini and felt compelled to blog.

But yes, I most definately am sick and as my DM pointed out yesterday "yeah,...um hon you burned." At which point i flat out denied her accusations only to be painfully brought to the truth meer hours later.(but the sunburn is not my issue anymore.) The current PIMR is the headache that has been hanging around for the past 3 days and the heat that im producing fighting off whatever it is that I have. Its the kind of heat that makes it uncomfortable to sleep unless im freezing cold or so exhausted I just pass out.(not literally) so I lie down and wait until about 2 at which point i usally am so exhausted i can fall asleep regardless of how uncomfortable I am. The dumb thing is, I didn't think of using ice and ice packs until yesterday, yeah I feel dumb. But the being uncomfortable and heat take backseat to the pain of the headache that won't go away, because the agony it causes if i wait too long to take something for it, sucks. But I'm not a pity partier, i simply was giving you a, as hagz mentioned to me earlier today, Schadenfreunde. Feel better because of my misfortune, go for it. But I really wish i knew what I did to get this dang headache.

Trying to figure out a purpose or general focus for my blog is tough, perhaps I shall ask what it Should be, DM has her crafty one (which i take pictures for btw) and that works for her but what do I blog about other than me? Im up for suggestions.
